Finally back in Bali.
It’s so good to finally be back in Bali. This is our fourth time coming here. I love the island. The people, the climate, the sunsets. Feels like our second home. Which it also will be for almost the next four weeks. This time we will be moving around, staying at 5 different places, including a couple of nights in Bangkok upon our departure back to Norway.
Eat, pray, love
Bali is all about relaxing. Sleeping late. Reading a few good books. Enjoy each other. Eat good food. Shoot some pictures. Swim. Snorkle. Explore new parts of Bali.
Our holiday in Bali starts this time in Batu Belig. In Villa Briana, which is pretty close to Victoria Villa, where we stayed last year. Almost on the other side of the road of our favorite cafe, Watercress Cafe.
Long way from home
Flying from Norway to Bali takes a “few” hours. We flew with Thai Airways. First 11 hours to Bangkok. Waited for 3 hours for the next 4 hours flight taking us to Denpasar. Time difference is 6 hours. From the airport it takes approximately 1 hour to drive into Seminyak – or Batu Belig, where our villa is located. Traffic is almost always “bad”. It amazes me every time I am here that I have not experienced any bad car accidents. Or accidents with mopeds, as these drive “all over the place”.
The sun is up for only 12 hours. Up around 6 am, and down again 12 hours later. The sunsets are magical and attract many people out to the beach to watch the sun sets. Although we have seen it so many times before, I never get tired of it. The temperature is always – at least in July – around 28 degrees celsius. And when the sun sets it gets dark. Very dark.
Even though we are not staying at Anantara Seminyak – where all of our previous holidays in Bali has started (and ended) – we had to go back. Go back to meet with some of the wonderful people we have gotten to know during our holidays in Bali.
