Victoria Villas in Batu Belig is a perfect place to stay in Bali. Walking distance to the beach, Potato Head and Finns Beach. And has Watercress Cafe as its neighbor.

We always start (and end) our holidays in Bali staying at Anantara Seminyak. This time was no exception. But after a few days there, we checked in at Victoria Villas, in their Swiss villa.

The villa is located in Batu Belig. Between the busy areas of Seminyak and Petitenget, and Canggu. The Swiss villa is a big 2 bedroom villa with an open living room and kitchen, and has a huge pool. Driving to the end of the Watercress Lane – passing Watercress Cafe, you will find yourself in a very spacious and quiet villa, with a beautiful view over a rice field pointing towards the beach, Potato Head Beach Club and Hotel W.

Even though you cannot walk over the rice field to get to the beach, walking on the street takes less than 10 minutes. And from the beach it takes you an additional 10 minutes to walk over to Finns Beach Club.

Very friendly and forthcoming staff

We where met by a very friendly assistant who welcomed us to the villa with a fresh towel and a welcome drink. There was some problems with the wifi to begin with, but she provided us in the meantime with a mobile broadband router, so that we could use the internet. After the wifi was fixed, we could enjoy high speed fibre optic internet, fast enough to FaceTime, stream music from Spotify and to some work from time to time. The villa is equipped with a soundsystem and speakers mounted in the open living room. We used our smartphone together with the UE Megaboom Bluetooth speaker that we had brought with us.

The staff is available 24/7 and helped us with all we needed, being booking transport for a day trip or tips to where to eat and what to do. We simply had a fantastic 10 day stay at the Swiss villa, and will most likely come back when we visit Bali again.

Can not recommend this villa strongly enough.

Victoria Villas

We fell in love with the open “living room” and the beautifully decorated floor. From the open living room and kitchen, you have a perfect view of the pool and the rice field.

From the master bedroom you have a very nice view over the pool and the gazebo. We loved to wake up here. From the bedroom you have direct access to your own bathroom which includes a bathtub and a huge shower. Both bedrooms are also equipped with satellite TV (even though it was seldom used).

After waking up – and often after having a coffee from Watercress Cafe – I spent a few minutes going through some work from the gazebo which is a  beautiful spot to work and relax. The villa is also equipped with high speed fibre optic internet via wifi. Fast enough to do work. Fast enough to streaming music from Spotify, and fast enough to FaceTime to friends and family.

The kids got their own unicorn to play with in the pool. This was also used as a sunbed to do some reading from time to time. Notice the outdoor shower in the back, where I had almost all of my showers during our 10 day stay here.

Kids had a great time in the pool.

Even though the villa is very close to the busy street of Batu Belig, it was always quiet around the villa. Nothing bad about the rice field view either. Behind the rice field is the beach, where you have direct access to Potato Head, which took about 15 minutes of walk.
