Cookie policy

Plain-language notes for this portfolio site — who handles your data, which cookies run, and the rules for using the pages.

Cookies are small files or browser storage entries that help a site remember things between visits. Here is exactly what moalii.com uses today.

How you choose

On your first visit you should see a cookie banner at the bottom. You can:

  • Accept all — optional analytics and marketing cookies are allowed (see below).
  • Reject optional — only strictly necessary storage runs.

You can reopen the choice anytime via Cookie settings in the footer or by visiting /privacy-settings.

Strictly necessary

These are required for basic operation and do not need consent under EU rules:

  • Session / security cookies from the framework (for example Laravel session or CSRF protection) while you browse.
  • cms-cookie-consent-v1 in your browser’s local storage — remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies so the banner does not nag you every page.
  • cookie_consent cookie — stores your preferences when you save them on the privacy settings page (analytics on/off, marketing on/off).

Without these, the site may forget your cookie choice or reject form submissions for security reasons.

Optional cookies

Only placed if you accept them (or enable them on the settings page):

  • Analytics — helps me see which pages are read and whether links break. I use this to improve the portfolio, not to build advertising profiles.
  • Marketing — reserved for embeds or tools that track across sites. This portfolio rarely needs them; the toggle exists so I can add a tool later without hiding it from you.

If optional cookies are off, those scripts should not run. If I add a new tool, I will describe it here.

Third-party content

Some pages may link to external demos (GitHub, client sites, etc.). Those sites may set their own cookies when you open them. I do not control that — check their policies.

How long they last

Consent choices are stored for about twelve months unless you clear browser data sooner. Server session cookies usually expire when you close the browser or after a short inactivity period set by the host.

More about personal data

Cookies are one piece of the picture. Contact form data and server logs are covered in the privacy policy.

Questions

Email info@moalii.com if something here does not match what you see in your browser tools — I would rather fix the text than leave you guessing.

Something unclear?

If the banner or settings page does not match what you read here, tell me — I would rather fix the site than leave the policy wrong.
