This page explains what happens to your data when you use moalii.com — my personal portfolio site. I keep it short on purpose: no legal theatre, just what I actually collect and why.
Who is responsible
The site is run by Mohammed Ali. For anything privacy-related, email me at info@moalii.com.
What this site is
moalii.com is a portfolio: project write-ups, a blog when I publish, and a contact form so you can reach me about work. I do not sell products here, and I do not run a newsletter on this site.
Data you send me on purpose
When you use the contact form, I receive:
- your name
- your email address
- your message (and subject line if you fill it in)
- your phone number, only if you choose to add it
I use that information to read your message and reply. I do not use it for advertising profiles or sell it to anyone.
Messages are stored in the administration area of this website (a private Filament panel) and may also arrive by email, depending on how the server is configured. I keep enquiries as long as they are still relevant — usually until the conversation is finished, or longer if we start a project together and I need the history for billing or delivery.
Data collected automatically
Like most websites, the server may log technical details when you visit: IP address, browser type, the page you requested, and a timestamp. Hosting providers do this for security and troubleshooting. I do not use those logs to identify visitors unless something breaks and I need to investigate.
If you accept optional cookies (see the cookie policy), I may use analytics or similar tools later to understand which pages people read. Optional cookies are off until you accept them.
Cookies
Some cookies are required so the site works — for example remembering your cookie choice. Others are optional. You can change your mind anytime via the cookie banner, the link in the footer (“Cookie settings”), or the page at /privacy-settings. Details are on the cookie policy page.
Who else sees your data
I run the site on infrastructure I rent (hosting, email delivery, backups). Those providers process data on my behalf and only as needed to operate the service. I pick vendors with sensible security practices; I do not give them permission to use your contact details for their own marketing.
If you link out to GitHub, LinkedIn, or other sites from my footer, their privacy rules apply there — not mine.
Your rights
If you live in the EU or UK, you generally have the right to ask what I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to certain processing. I will respond within a reasonable time. The easiest route is to email info@moalii.com from the same address you used on the form so I can verify it is you.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
This site is aimed at adults looking for professional work. I do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
I may update this page when the site changes — for example if I add analytics or a new form field. I will change the text here; the date of your last visit is not tracked on this page, so check back if you care about the details.
